The Gift that keeps on Giving at Christmas Time

According to Buddha, the mind of the giver is happy before giving, peaceful while giving, and uplifted after giving.

During this season of giving, we reflect on the true meaning of the gifts given by the Wise Men of the East and how they relate to our lives. The gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh symbolize the qualities of a pure mind guided by divine wisdom, spirituality, and love for all in equal measure.

Giving and receiving are interconnected because there is a reciprocating partnership, a giver and a receiver. The question is, which is more rewarding and for whom, since the effects on our bodies are similar regardless of whether we give or receive.

The only difference is that our desire to give comes from our subconscious, while our desire to receive is a conscious need. Therefore, to experience abundance, we must give with kindness and love. To receive with a grateful heart we must be humble.

By following this fundamental principle, we too can become wise like the Wise Men of the East who followed their intuition. We can also bring gifts and good news to our inner child, which is the source of life within us.

The gift is in our hands, and we can give and receive with a pure and loving heart.
